Which I thought was kind of odd considering the issues people had reported with DirectX 12. Problem is, this is fairly unoptimised at the moment, with many players reporting stuttering and slowdown when running DirectX 12. If you have the PC for it, 12 will allow you to run DLSS, making the game look a hell of a lot better. That said, our own experience with the demo wasn't that bad when it comes to frame rates since the game ran fine when it mattered the most - during combat. It seems like my framerate is significantly worse with DirectX 11. The differences between using DirectX 11 and 12 in Outriders are actually pretty significant. Will be the default, which should hopefully eliminate stuttering and FPS drops in some cases. Outriders have received a recent update to fix the DX11 stuttering issue. One of the fans asked the team to elaborate on the matter and PFC noted that while you can force Outriders demo to use DX12, it was not implemented fully, which is one of the reasons why performance drops are so noticeable. Running Outriders in Directx 12 can cause an overloaded CPU, PC players can experience stuttering, a hard crash, or shader cache problems, according to Square Enix. Thankfully, DX11 will not be forced in the full release of Outriders since People Can Fly announced that DX12 will be the first option. The differences between using DirectX 11 and 12 in Outriders are actually pretty significant. Generally, DX12 support means better performance for the games that support it and given the stuttering some players encountered in the demo, this was identified as one of the sources of FPS drops by the player base. Outriders demo is running on DX11 by default, which is not optimal for today's standards.
